The process of preparing pure water by ion exchange method

1、 Selection and pretreatment of new resin
1. Choose resin type and appropriate proportion
2. Pre treatment of new resin:
(1) Expansion treatment: prevents the new resin from expanding too quickly and breaking, affecting the mechanical strength of the resin and reducing its service life. Separate dry resin treatment and wet resin treatment.
Processing procedure:
① Wet resin: add water → soak for 2-4 hours, continuously stir → until the water is clear
Function: Remove impurities and unqualified resin
② Dry resin: add 4-5% NaCl, continuously increase the concentration to 20% → soak for 2-4 hours → add water → until the NaCl concentration is below 3%
Function: Resin expansion
(2) Deformation treatment:
Sodium type resin → hydrogen type resin (5-10% HCl solution)
Chlorine type resin → Hydroxide type resin (4-6% NaOH solution)
Process: Add pure water → Stir for 1-2 hours, soak for 2 hours → Wash with pure water, adjust pH value.
Function: Remove Na+and Cl from the exchange resin-
